AIR OPTIX® for ASTIGMATISM from Alcon is a soft monthly contact lens for the correction of astigmatism, made from the silicone hydrogel Lotrafilcon B. It has a water content of 33% and a high oxygen permeability. For a stable fit and long-lasting moisture, AIR OPTIX® for ASTIGMATISM is equipped with two innovative technologies.
Sharp vision for astigmatism
In the case of astigmatism, it is crucial for visual acuity that the contact lens is stable. The AIR OPTIX® for ASTIGMATISM with PRECISION BALANCE 8|4™ design has two stabilisation zones in the lower half, at 8 and 4 o’clock, which ensure that the lens remains in the correct position when the eyelid is blinking. This ensures that vision remains sharp even when you look at the object.
Monthly lenses with protective coating
Alcon has provided the AIR OPTIX® for ASTIGMATISM with SmartShield™ Technology: A wafer-thin but extremely effective protective shield wraps around the surface of the contact lenses, making them more resistant to protein and lipid deposits. Not only particles from the body’s own tear fluid, but also traces of cosmetics or creams can get into the eye and deposit on the contact lenses during wear.
